DEACON JOHN RETIREMENT

This weekend sees the retirement of Deacon John Crowshow from ministry at St Aidan's church. Following the Sunday Mass there will be a celebration lunch for 230 people. Many thanks to the team who have organised this event - it is sure to be a great success!

BARRY BLAXLAND

We pray for the soul of Barry Blaxland, whose Requiem Mass will be on Wednesday 21st June at 11.45am. This will be followed by Cremation at 1.15pm.

DEACON JOHN CROWSHAW RETIRES FROM PARISH MINISTRY

Our next big parish event will be when Deacon John Crowshaw marks his retirement on Sunday 25th June.  The 11am Mass will be followed by a parish celebration lunch for all. However, for the latter you will need to sign the list in narthex and purchase a ticket - nominal price of £5 per head, school age children and toddlers free.

John has requested that we do not present him with a farewell gift, but instead to make a donation to the HCPT (Hosanna House and Children’s Pilgrimage Trust) which is a national and international charity taking children and adults with disabilities to Lourdes, and seeking to promote the integration of all peoples regardless of their disability. Envelopes for this are available in the narthex and may be handed in at the retiring collection this weekend, or anytime up to the 18th June.

MAY FAYRE 2017 - MONEY RAISED £7,338.02

What an amazing amount of money raised for our three chosen charities. Many, many thanks to all - your support and help before, during and after the event was very much appreciated. Donations from our parishioners were outstanding - thank you to all who gave so generously. We had an excellent day. We were down on numbers through the gate and volunteers on the day but those who manned stalls did a fabulous job. The weather was not good, neither was it as bad as it could have been. The band was wonderful - lifting spirits, many singing along and some dancing. Plenty of laughter and socialising, a warm and friendly atmosphere and an excellent financial result to end with.
